Ms. Wong initially worked as a primary and secondary school teacher, where she assisted numerous children and adolescents with Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as their parents. She has a profound understanding of their challenges and hardships. Later, she pursued full-time studies in biblical studies, theology, as well as marriage and family counseling at the China Graduate School of Theology. Additionally, she earned her Master of Music Therapy at the University of Melbourne.

 

Currently, Ms. Wong provides individual and group music and psychological therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. When assisting her clients, she tailors treatment plans to meet their specific needs, integrating commonly used approaches from psychotherapy, music therapy, and play therapy. Her clinical experience includes:

  • For children & adolescents: autistic spectrum disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and speech impairments, depression and anxiety, social anxiety, self-harm/violent behavior, suicidal thoughts and attempts, and school refusal, etc.
  • For adults: mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive related disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, suicidal thoughts and crisis management, marriage & family problems, and faith struggles, etc.
  • For the elderly: cognitive impairments, post-stroke struggles, mobility challenges, visual impairments, depression and anxiety, loneliness, and family relationship issues etc.

Ms. Wong is frequently invited to provide on-site music therapy and counseling services, as well as conduct talks and workshops at nursing homes, special schools, and churches. Moreover, she has been a columnist on marital relationships for newspapers, and taught courses related to mental health, family relationships, and music therapy in various seminaries.
